Chauli Ki Jali

Chauli Ki Jali also known as Chauli Ki Jali is a visitor's attraction located behind the cliff of Mukteshwar temple. It is located at a distance of 250 metres from the Mukteshwar temple. 'Chauli' means rock and 'Jali' means hole. According to Hindu Mythology, the goddess and demon had a fierce battle at this place. There is a trunk of an elephant , a shield and indefinite outlines of a sword, which serves as the testament of the battle. It is believed that if a barren women crosses the hole of Chauli Ki Jali during Shivratri; then she is blessed with a child.

Bhalu Gaad Waterfall

Bhalu Gaad, which literally translates to Bear Stream, is a quaint waterfall located near the town of Mukteshwar. The waterfall gets its name from the abundant bear population in the area. The Bhalu Gaad Waterfall switches between a horseshoe waterfall and a plunge-style waterfall, depending on the flow of water. The waterfall spot is also great for bear sightings. However, for the same reason, entry of visitors near the waterfall is closed during the nighttime.

Mukteshwar Kumaon Hills

Mukteshwar was developed by the Britishers as research and intitute (IVRI) in 1893. Perched atop a hill in a remote corner of Kumaon Hills; Mukteshwar is bounded by fruit orchards and coniferous forest's. Nanda Devi, Nanda Koti, Nandaghunti, Trishul and Panchachuli are the major peak visible from Mukteshwar Hill's. On One Side Mukteshwar is covered by dense forest and on the otherside it offers splendid view of the enchanting valley and the Himalayas.

Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple

According to a famous Hindu Legend; a sage by the name Kapil used to meditate in a cave. The Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple is located about 3kms from the main village and offers tempting veiws of the misty Himalayas.Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple is adorned in the luscious Soar Valley located near Takaura and Takari villages of Pithoragarh. The Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated about 10 metres inside a dark cave.

Dhokaney Waterfall

A hidden waterfall in Kumaon region situated in-between the border of Nainital and Almora is a hidden treasure of Kumaon.A stunning waterfall hidden in the midst of the pine trees, is a local secret of the Kumaon region. The lush green forest of pines and deodar trees adding more charm in its beauty. The melodious sound of the waterfall echoes throughout the forest. You can sit down and relaxed in the icy cold water and enjoy your time. The place is situated 4okms from Mukteshwar on NH 109, this road connects the two very famous hill stations of Uttarakhand state, Nainital and Almora.

Jain Temple

The first Digambar Jain temple in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, right in front of the snow-capped Mukteshwar Himalaya mountain! Here in the snow-capped Himalaya range, the chains of Om Parvat, Nanda Devi Parvat, Badrinath, Kedarnath and Kailash Parvat are clearly visible from the front of the temple. This is the first Jain temple in the Himalayas, which is also an Ashtapad.

Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple

It is a 350 year old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a famous tourist destination in Uttarakhand. There are many such temples throughout various states in India. It is situated in the Kumaon Hills and is 51 KM from Nainital. Usually tourists prefer road vehicles to get to the place. However, if you prefer airways, the nearest airport is at Pantnagar and the nearest railway station is at 65 KM from the town. From the temple, you will get a beautiful view of the Himalayas. People tend to enjoy the nice atmosphere and the stunning view from over the mountain top.The stone stairs lead you to the deity’s abode. It is believed the lord Shiva killed a demon here and granted him salvation (Mukti), hence the name Mukteshwar. Mukteshwar Dham was an abode to Saint Shri Mukteshwar Maharaj ji, who lived here in a cottage. One of his disciples, Swami Sanshudhanand ji, now stays there. The temple complex is an ideal place for meditation. You can either drive to the temple or chose to trek.
